Hainan Medical University, entrusted by The Educational Department of Hainan Province,is one of the universities of being responsible for the enrollment and the administration ofHainanProvincialGovernmentScholarship. Based on Requirements issued by The Educational Department of Hainan Province and Hainan Provincial Finance Bureau, the relevant mattersof scholarship evaluationare hereby notified as follows:

I. Allocation and Scholarship Amount

Supporting Category:30 MBBS or related medicalundergraduatemajors

Duration:5 academic years

Coverage and standard:RMB20,000 per student per year, which covers tuition fees,EXCLUDING registration fees, accommodation fees, teaching materials, comprehensive insurance and so on. Scholarships are reviewed once a year.

Application deadline:April 30, 2017.

II.Qualifications

1.Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China , and be friendly to China and in good health, aging below 30.

2.Applicants should be well behaved, abide by Chinese laws and regulationsas well asschool rules and regulations, inaccordancewithregulations ofChina's entry and exit.

3.Applicants fromthe native English countrywill be excused from an examination, non-English native international students are required of TOEFL at 78 scores or IELTS of 6.0 and above, as well as other English proficiency certificates.

4.Applicantsshould be top studentsin theirclass.

5.Without anyother Chinese government scholarshipsgiven.

III. Application Documents

Apply directly to our UNIVERSITY and submit thenecessarymaterials before the deadline.(All materials available in Chinese or English, both in duplicate):

1.Application Form for HainanGovernmentScholarship(HGS)

2.An certificate issued by their schools or working places which can prove their study and work status. Non-Chinese and English texts shall be accompanied by a notarized corresponding Chinese or English Translation.

3.Academic transcripts, HSK and related English certificates(According to the requirements of our school).

4.Physical Examination Record for Foreigners by China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine in both original and photocopy.

5.2 recommendation letters from two teachers in a graduate school and a study plan in China (not less than 600 words) .

6.A Study Plan or Research Proposal （written in Chinese or English）;

7.Photocopy of passport.

IV. The Scholarship Confirmation.

1.University reviews the application documents and decides the nominated candidates.

2.The scholarship assessment working group set up by the university review all documents of thenominatedcandidates based on the requirements mentioned above and submitthe nominatedcandidates to The Education Department of Hainan Province for the final confirmation.

3.The university will announce the scholarship admission list around June 15 after it is sent formally to the university by The Education Department of Hainan Province .

4.Scholarship admission letters will be released by the school by the end of June this year, to the applicant himself, scholarship recipients enrollment will be in September 2017.

V. Scholarship Registration and Student Status Management

Scholarship students are not allowed to change their majors, transfer and extend their study period. If there are special circumstances to be reported, Without the approval of their own profession change,transfer or extension the duration of study, their scholarship ownership will be not eligible.

VI. Scholarship Concellation.

In case of any one of the following circumstances, the scholarship qualification will be canceled.

1.Failure to register on time without get the permission from the school, and the leave exceeds two weeks

2.Spreading unfriendly remarks in China.

3.Participation in illegal community organization activities.

4.Violation of Chinese laws and regulations.

5.Serious violation of school disciplines.

6.Others are considered to be eligible for cancellation of the scholarship(Such as: failing in the annual scholarship evaluation).
