Brief Introduction
School of International Education (SIE), is a secondary academic institute of Hainan Medical University (HNMU) and responsible for recruitment, management and teaching for international students and Chinese students.
There are 15 staffs and 7 administrative management offices which are Office of General Affairs, Office of Academic and Researching Affairs, Office of Students Affairs, Office of International Students Affairs，Office of Admission and Career, Youth League Committee and Department of Teaching and researching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
Currently, there are around 615 full-time medical students, majoring clinical medicine( MBBS program),including 144 Chinese students and around 471 international students from more than 30 countries such as Pakistan, Ghana, Jordan, Indonesia, Nepal, It is also always ready to provide various Tourism Medicine and health-care-oriented short-training courses such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Qigong, Tai Chi, Scrapping and Chinese massage.

Educational Objectives:
Graduates should be expected to develop in an all-round way and be able to fulfill medical requirements and become an independent practitioner after majoring medicine with English medium. Features and highlights:
New International class is made up from the selection of excellent Chinese and international students from the clinical medical freshmen. The whole teaching plan embodies the modern medical teaching philosophy of "early clinical, multi-clinical and repeated clinical". We have excellent teaching staffs for English medium course, more than 80% of whom have the experiences studying abroad, and more than 82 % have senior titles. The teaching hospitals such as the Chinese people's liberation army general hospital (Beijing), first affiliated hospital of Nanjing medical university and other domestic famous hospitals with good atmosphere for English communication. The senior Chinese students in the international class will have more opportunity for internship in the United States, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and other medical cooperation institutions..
Faculty:
There are 120 full-time teachers who are qualified for teaching in English, including 28 professors (27%), 57 associated professors (51%). There are 51 (49%) doctoral degree holders and 53 (51%) master degree holders.
The university sends 15-20 teachers for 3 months of full-time professional training in English to University of Utah, University of Nebraska, Medical College of Wisconsin, Taipei Medical University, etc. every year.

Graduates will be mainly engaged in medical profession, pharmaceutical, and health and other related industries through the certified practitioner qualification examinations of the United States and other countries.
