Part 1 Introduction ofHainan Medical University

Hainan Medical University is located in Haikou, the provincial capital of Hainan Province which has been running for over 70years. It is the only public medical institution of higher learning in the Hainan Free Trade Port. It shoulders themissionof training high-level medical and health talents for national strategiesoftheregionand South China Sea.

The Chengxi main campus covers an area of669.47mu,Guilinyang Branch Campus covers an area of787.04mu. HMU has 4 affiliated hospitals with over 7800 open beds.It alsooffersleveleducationofdoctoral,masterand program,international education,as well as thegeneral undergraduate education,higher vocational,adult education and other multi-level education.There arefirst-tier discipline doctorate degree authorizationforclinical medicine, andother 5first-tier disciplines master degree authorizationof basic medicine, clinical medicine, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, biology.Besides stillother 5professionalmaster degreeofclinical medicine, public health, nursing, pharmacyandstomatology. Theuniversityhas vigorously promoted the internationalization of education by recruiting international students from more than 30 countries along the “Belt and Road”. It has established good cooperative relations with many renowned universitiesat home and abroad.The total enrollmentcurrentlyismore than14577full-time students, among with722international students.There are 1186full-time teachers in the school headquarters, of which the doctoral degree accounts for 42.66%;flexible introduction for9academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering,4Yangtze River Scholars,28expertswith special allowance from State Council,7candidates for the National Project of Millions of Talents,3 national outstanding teachers.

In 2018,the first-level discipline of clinical medicine of the university became the first discipline in Hainan Province to be ranked in the top 1% of ESI globalrankings.Clinical medicine, pharmacy, nursing and medical laboratory technology have been approved as national first-class construction sites for undergraduate majors.

The university has 2 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education,1 key laboratory of the National Health Commission,1out-of-hospital innovation unit of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences,1International Center for Aging and Cancer（ICAC）, 8 Hainan Provincial academician workstations, 1 innovation center of Hainan academician team, 2 postdoctoral scientific research workstations;1 laboratory of the National Drug Preclinical Safety Evaluation Agency and 1 access institution of the Ministry of Health for human assisted reproductive technology;It has a number of national certified majors, provincial characteristic key disciplines, provincial characteristic majors, provincial teaching teams and provincial excellent courses.It is the national water emergency education and training base and the leading unit of the National Emergency Medical Rescue Team (Hainan) project;It is also the first batch of universities to pilot the national excellent doctor education and training program, the first group of undergraduate universities to pilot the comprehensive reform of majors under the Ministry of Education, and the first group of educational informatization pilot units.

Amongthe six journals sponsored by the school,AsiaPacific Journal of Tropical Medicine（English version）andAsianPacificJournal ofTropicalBiomedicine”（English version）have entered all world famous search databases,including SCI,andJournal of Acute Diseaseshasbeen enlisted inthe ESCI.

Part 2 Enrolment Categories and Application Conditions

一、Enrolment Categories

Note: Studentsare required topass the HSKLevel 3 before they can enter theclinical medicine education;andpass HSKLevel 4 in the first school year before they can enter the second academic year of professional study,otherwise theywillrepeatanother year.Those whostillfailsHSK Level 4 withintherepeatingyearwill be dropped out of school.

二、Admission Conditions

Notes:1. All medical enrollment majors in our school do not enroll color blindness and color weakness. Students will be checked for color blindness and color weakness after registration.Those who do not meet the conditions will be disqualified for admission.2.Both oreitherof the parents are Chinese citizens and settled in a foreign countrywithforeign nationality at birth shall not have Chinese nationality.Since 2021,their application as an international student to study in our school, in addition to conformingto the school's other eligibility, should also hold a valid passport or foreign nationality documentsfor at least4 years , and the last 4 years (by the end of school year April 30) within a record ofresidence formore than 2 years in foreign countries ( 9 months can beconsidered to bea year, subject toimmigrationstamps).3. Applicants under the age of 18 must have an adult Chinese citizen as a guardianin Hainan.

Notes:1. In accordance with relevant China’s laws and regulations, international students shall live in the dormitories in the first year, from the second year students can apply to live outside of school,according to relevant management regulations.The school does notgenerally providesingle rooms.Doublerooms are mainly used. Tripleand quadruple rooms areprovided accordingly.

   Part 5Application Procedures

2. Submitapplication for admission.Applicants should send all application materials to the school's designated email address hnmu_admission@hainmc.edu.cn before deadline.

   Application and Registration Deadline:

   Chinese PreparatoryProgram

   Deadline for application: Spring enrollment,beforeApril20, 2022

   Registration deadline: April30, 2022, overdue will not be accepted.

   Undergraduateprogram

   Deadline for application:Autumnadmission, byAugust31, 2022

   Registration Deadline: BeforeNovember30, 2022, overdue will not be accepted.

   ★ Applicants for Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship should send relevant documents before April 15, 2022, overdue documents will not be accepted.

3. Qualification examination and assessment.The school organizes experts to conduct qualification examination and entrance examination,finalizethe list of applicants, and issue the admission notices.

   三、Mail notices.After confirming theapplication, the school will mail the original “Admission Notice”and “Visa Application Form for Studying in China”(JW202 Form) toapplicants.

   四、Apply for a visa.Applicants should go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General tofollowthe visa procedures after receiving the admission notice from our school and the “Visa Application Form for Studying in China” (JW202 Form).

   五、Registration.Applicantscan registerin theschool with the original and photocopy of the admission notice before the registration deadline.

   Registration deadline:The registration deadlines for preparatory students and undergraduate studentsisApril30, 2022andNovember30, 2022, respectively. Those who cannot register on time should submit materials to our school in advance to apply for leave procedures. The leave period should not exceedfor2 weeks. Enrollment can be postponed afterbeingadmitted, otherwise the enrollment will be canceled.

   Part 6Scholarship

   一、Scholarship of HainanProvincialGovernment for International Students

   The winners of the Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship will befinalizedaccording to the quota of“Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students”allocated by the higher authorities and the“Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students”Management Rules of Hainan Medical University. Applicants can submit application materials to the school within the prescribed time.

   二、Scholarship of Hainan Medical University for International Students

   Recipients of Hainan Provincial Government Scholarship must participate in the annual scholarship review after enrollment. Those who fail the assessment will be suspended or disqualified from the scholarship.Excellent students willstillreceive scholarshipseveryschool year.
