Prof. Wang Huamin, Dean of School of International Education Visited the Philippines on Invitation

Prof. Wang Huamin visited the Philippines to attend the meeting of the 56th SEAMEO TROPMED Network Governing Board Meeting and the 2nd global public health conference from September 6th to 9th , 2017 invited by Prof.

 

Dr Pratap Singhasivanon, Secretary General of SEAMEO TROPMED Network. The meetings have yielded fruitful results of academic exchanges and international research collaborations.

As a future partner, Prof. Wang Huamin visiting the Philippines helps to strengthen bilateral communication and seek more opportunities for cooperation.

The University of the Philippines is the biggest national comprehensive university in the Philippines. Dean Wang Huamin attended the meeting of the 2nd global public health conference and took the opportunity to conduct academic exchanges with Carmencita D Padilla, MD, MAHPS, the president of the university and other professors of Public Health School and Medical School.  

From September 8th to 9th ,2017, as the only representative of China, Prof. Wang attended the meeting of the 56th SEAMEO TROPMED Network Governing Board Meeting and made an introduction of Hainan Medical University.

At the same time, Prof. Wang Huamin and Dr Pratap Singhasivanon, Secretary General of SEAMEO TROPMED Network has reached a consensus over the issue of setting up a tropical disease research center and exchange visits. Meanwhile, Prof. Wang also talked with Dr Sandra for the further cooperation of tropical medicine research and exchange students. During the visit, Prof. Wang also made communication with the representatives of WHO and UNAIDS.

In response to the initiative of the One Belt, One Road, Hainan Medical University makes extensive cooperation and communication proactively with Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries along the "Maritime Silk Road" so as to improve international influence of Hainan Medical University and meet the need of the initiative of the One Belt, One Road as well as the further development of Hainan Medical University.

This visit plays a substantial role in implementing the spirit of the Seventh Congress of Hainan Province, developing tropical medicine and the renaming of Hainan Medical University. It also has a profound influence on enhancing the international statue of Hainan tropical medicine research.
