Recently, International Center for Aging and Cancer (ICAC) of Hainan Medical University published two back-to-back papers, “The impact of age and number of mutations on the size of clonal hematopoiesis” and “Aging and comprehensive molecular profiling in acute myeloid leukemia” in the famous academic journal “ Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America”（PNAS）, in collaboration with domestic teams, which are Rui-Bao Ren group from Shanghai Institute of Hematology of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Wang-Wei Cai group from School of Basic Medicine and Life Sciences of Hainan Medical University, Yang Shen and Sai-Juan Chen group from Shanghai Institute of Hematology of Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Jie Jin group from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University College of Medicine, and De-Pei Wu group from the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University. Two studies have respectively unraveled the potential application value of age-related clonal hematopoiesis (CH) as a biomarker for disease risk assessment,and the core characteristics and clinical prognostic significance of AML molecule pathogenesis.
